The Côtes du Marmandais appellation spans both banks of the Garonne River near Marmande, blending the terroirs of Guyenne and Gascogne to create wines of exceptional quality.
Since 2003, Cave du Marmandais has united the region’s winemaking traditions, formed by the merger of two historic cooperatives. In 2016, it joined the Sud-Ouest wines interbranch organization, further solidifying its role in the region’s wine industry.
The winery balances respect for heritage with innovation, focusing on authentic, terroir-driven wines that meet modern market demands. It proudly champions the unique local grape variety, Abouriou, alongside other regional specialties.
Viticulture has been central to the area’s economy since Gallo-Roman times. In the Middle Ages, Marmandais wines were crucial to Bordeaux’s export trade, shipped from local ports to England.
Cave du Marmandais is committed to sustainable practices, ensuring a reliable economic, social, and environmentally friendly future for generations to come. This approach, combined with the region’s rich history and diverse terroir, produces wines that truly express the essence of Côtes du Marmandais.
