Fiano di Avellino DOCG Pietramara I Favati

  • Campania
  • , Italy
IT-FAV-004
2022
6 x 75cl

Fiano di Avellino is a wine with deep historical roots, named after the Fiano grape, which was once called “Vitis Apiana” by the Latins due to its irresistible sweetness that attracted bees. Already appreciated in the Middle Ages, Fiano gained royal recognition, with Emperor Frederick II ordering a supply, and Charles d’Anjou planting 16,000 vines in the royal vineyards. Today, I Favati’s “Pietramara” is a shining example of this ancient variety, grown in the prestigious Pietramara Vineyard in Altripalda. The “Pietramara” Fiano di Avellino offers a fresh, minerally nose with subtle smoky hints, alongside notes of lemon peel and pear. On the palate, it has a medium body, excellent fruit, and a long finish with flavors of grilled pineapple and dried fruits. A sophisticated, well-balanced wine.
